Maggid ben Yoseif / Jerusalem Torah Voice in Exile

Educational background

MbY has a B.A. degree in journalism from Louisiana State University, an MBA degree in business administration from Northeast Louisiana University, attended the ORU Graduate School of Theology for three years and was studying at Yeshiva Ohr Someah in Jerusalem at the time of his second and third political arrests and imprisonment.  He is trained in biblical Hebrew and Aramaic exegesis.

His smichah (spiritual authority akin to an ordination) allows him to teach Torah to non-Jews and to Jews who first understand that he is not a rabbi and may not make binding rulings or opinions related to Halachah.  All of his teaching is based on a very strict and often literal historical/grammatical exegesis of the Hebrew Torah and Tanach and Aramaic (New Testament) texts.

As many are astonished concerning you thus: "an outline from a man!" ... "his features mirror the sons of Adam!" Thus he shall startle many nations. Concerning him, kings (rulers) shall shut their mouths because that which was not told to them they shall see and that they had not heard they shall meditate to themselves.
